The questionnaire was published in different online platform.
This is a long survey, and I hope my research subjects can fully participate in it and answer every question in the questionnaire seriously. At the same time, I hope that they will fully examine their food waste behavior during this month.
This research will end on March 5th, and then I will spend a week analyzing the data and visualizing them.
The survey is targeted at urban youth in the Z Generation.
Data Analysis
Part 1: Reasons
A. Young people are more taste conscious. When the taste is not good, they would rather waste food than condemn themselves.
B. At the same time, they are more concerned about their health than some older people: some older people are willing to try expired foods to save money, while fewer younger people are willing to do so.
C. There is a segment of the population that also demands the appearance of food, a segment of the population that is better off and has a higher demand for quality of life
Part 2: Circumstances
A. While there are many reasons why people waste food, most of those reasons can be overcome, with the exception of food spoilage and practical constrains.
B. Environmental awareness, environmental impact, giving food other meanings or rewarding it can help people to reduce food waste.
