During this term, my main task has been to complete the layout of a book of poetry for publication on the theme of clouds.

Looking back on my development process, the part I am most satisfied with is my theme: INSIDE. I believe that clouds represent not only a physical landscape, but also a world of thoughts and ideals, so I have used some geometric shapes to represent 'windows', while the paper is the junction point between two spaces, and we see through "Through the 'windows', we see the inner spiritual world of the poets on the paper. Secondly, my graphics are highly abstract and experimental, combining typographic features with scenic fictions.

However, the typographic part of my work still needs constant improvement. My biggest problem is my inability to balance whitespace with content, so the images will always appear too crowded, so I need to learn the trade-offs through constant study and more case studies. The choice of my theme font (grinder) has always been controversial: it tends to be cold and dark and does not fit with the 'healing' nature of the clouds I want to present, but after much thought, I have stuck with it. The reasons for this are as follows: firstly, my overall style tends to be soft and I needed to have a hard element to contrast and give tension to the image; secondly, I thought the font looked fluid and bouncy, similar to the form of the clouds, and could bring out the theme; thirdly, I wanted the pioneering nature of the font to represent myself, my perspective, while the other fonts and graphics represent the poet, two different personalities reaching out to the spirit through the text of the poem. The two different personalities reach a spiritual exchange through the text of the poem - a function that I wanted this publication to have in the first place.
